Editorial Policy & Standards
How we research, write, review, fund, and correct everything we publish — and where the line between education and advice sits.
Who we are
InsureMax is an independent insurance research and education publisher founded by Yamen Al muqadam. We publish plain-English guides, comparison tables, and calculators covering life, health, auto, home, business, travel, pet, cyber, liability, and workers' compensation insurance across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
We are a publisher, not a broker or an insurer. We do not underwrite policies, we do not bind coverage, and we do not act as your agent.
How our guides are researched
Every guide starts from primary sources: policy wordings and specimen contracts, regulator and government publications, industry loss data, and published carrier rate filings where available. Where we cite a cost, a limit, or a statutory rule, it comes from one of those categories rather than from other publishers' summaries.
Pricing figures are presented as ranges and clearly labelled as typical or median. Insurance pricing is individual — it depends on your age, location, health, claims history, class code, and dozens of underwriting variables — so we never present a single number as the price you will be quoted.
Rules that vary by jurisdiction are flagged as such. Where a rule applies only in a specific country or state, we say so in the sentence rather than in a footnote.
Editorial independence
Our writers and editors are paid a flat rate. No member of the editorial team is compensated on commission, on lead volume, or on the performance of any commercial partnership.
Commercial relationships never determine which products we rate highly, the order of a comparison table, or whether a criticism appears in a guide. Editorial staff do not take direction from commercial partners, and partners do not see content before publication.
Where a guide discusses a product category in which we hold a commercial relationship, that relationship is disclosed on the page.
How we make money
InsureMax is funded by three sources: display advertising, affiliate referral fees paid when a reader requests a quote through a partner link, and quote requests passed to licensed carriers and brokers that the reader has explicitly chosen to contact.
Advertising is served programmatically and is not sold to, reviewed by, or influenced by the editorial team. Affiliate fees do not change the price you pay.
We do not sell email lists, and we do not pass your details to any third party you have not selected. Our full data practices are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Review and fact-checking
Each guide is written by a named author and checked by a second editor against the underlying sources before publication. Numerical claims, statutory requirements, and policy-wording descriptions are verified individually rather than accepted from the draft.
Guides covering regulated subjects — workers' compensation requirements, health plan rules, and mandatory auto minimums — are re-checked whenever the relevant rules change, and at minimum annually.
Updates and corrections
Every article carries a publication date. Substantive updates are reflected in the content rather than layered on as addenda, so that what you read is the current position rather than a historical one with notes attached.
If we get something wrong, we correct it. Material errors — a wrong figure, a misstated rule, a misdescribed exclusion — are corrected promptly and the article is updated in place. Email corrections to our editorial address via the Contact page with the article title and the specific claim you are disputing, and we will respond.
Use of AI tools
We use software tools for research assistance, outlining, and copy-editing support. We do not publish machine-generated articles without human authorship, sourcing, and review.
Every guide on this site has a named human author who is accountable for its claims, and a human editor who verified them before publication.
This is education, not advice
Nothing on InsureMax constitutes financial, legal, tax, or insurance advice, and reading it does not create an advisory relationship. We do not know your circumstances, and general guidance cannot account for them.
Insurance products are contracts. The policy wording governs, and it will differ from any general description — including ours. Before buying, read the actual document and, for anything material, speak to a licensed adviser in your jurisdiction.
